Biography
Dr. Iglehart received his MD from Harvard Medical School in 1975. After serving as a surgical intern, research fellow, and house staff officer at Duke University Medical Center between 1975 and 1984, he was appointed to the Duke faculty and subsequently promoted to professor of surgery. In 1999, he joined Dana-Farber, where he is director of the Susan F. Smith Center for Women's Cancers. His research focuses on the molecular biology of breast cancer and the early steps in cancer invasion and progression. He is also the Charles A. Dana Senior Investigator in Cancer Genetics at Dana-Farber, the chief of the Cancer Biology Section in the Department of Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and the Anne E. Dyson Professor in Women's Cancer and Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He is the principal investigator of the NCI-funded Specialized Program of Research (SPORE) in breast cancer at Harvard.
